One example of hybridity in ‘The Lego Movie’ marketing campaign is through using weapons as props for the characters. This connotes danger, reflecting an action movie. Another example of hybridity in ‘The Lego Movie’ marketing campaign is the frightened facial expression on the character poster of Emmet. This connotes Emmet as a non-conventional hero, being the protagonist. These techniques are used to promote ‘The Lego Movie’ as a movie under many combined genres, so it appeals to a wider audience.
