1. How did the film industry reflect the society in 2014 when it was produced?
'The Lego Movie' is available on DVD, Blu-Ray, YouTube and Google Play as well as on consoles. 2014 was a year where the transformation was taking place between where to watch movies, from DVD players to streaming services. Currently, 'The Lego Movie' is unavailable on Amazon Prime or Netflix. However, I think this film was able to be a global success due to the popularity of the toys within it, as Lego has been the favourite toy of children across the globe for multiple decades. It also features a strong cast, of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Nick Offerman, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.
2. How did the film's distribution and circulation reflect the target audience?
DC characters, who are loved by hundreds of millions across the globe and appeal to people of all ages, are heavily featured in the movie. This alone draws in a multi-age audience of people, who perhaps aren't there for the Lego, but are for characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern. These characters are not hesitated to be featured in marketing, as Warner Bros. know they can draw in an entirely new audience.
