Postmodernism

Postmodern films often challenge genre conventions and mix multiple different genres. e.g sci-fi, comedy, adventure, action etc.

They challenge stereotyped character roles. e.g. Emmet is a non-conventional hero.

Pastiche is the imitation or similarities with other films. e.g. Batman in 'The Lego Movie'.

Hyper-realoty is when the character realises they're in a film, like 'Deadpool'.
