ReplyDeletePlease answer the following questions below:
What are 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of a conglomerate working on a film VS an independent company? Think about ownership, funding profit etc.
Miss Crader
Conglomerate Film Advantages:
ReplyDelete1. Conglomerates have huge budget to showcase the best casts, sets, stories and special effects.
2. A conglomerate's institution or company name can sell the movie alone.
Conglomerate Film Disadvantages:
1. A film's failure could give the studio a bad reputation.
2. Powerful conglomerates can have big political impacts which can cause many people to boycott the institution.
Independent Film Advantages:
1. Less pressure to perform.
2. Movies can be high in quality as there is more focus on that, rather than selling as many tickets as possible.
Independent Film Disadvantages:
1. Big companies rarely recognise independent film companies as potential partners to horizontally integrate.
2. Independent movies have a smaller budget to work with, which could make production or marketing challenging.
