Synergy

Synergy

When at least two media companies who work together create a greater product than the outcome if the companies worked on it individually.

The Disney Store promotes products which promote parks, soundtracks, movies and television programmes.

AOL and Time Warner teamed up to promote Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

What is synergy?

Synergy is when two media companies work together to create a new product or products which they know they couldn't make without the help of each other. This involves companies to do with movies, commercials, soundtracks, social media, park attractions, television shows, video games and merchandise.

For Example: Jurassic World by Universal

Movie and Commercial:
Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures

Soundtrack:
Universal hired Michael Giachinno

Social Media:
Universal and Facebook team up to make a 'baby Blue' interactive mode. There are GIFs and stickers about Jurassic World on Instagram and Snapchat.

Park Attractions:
Rides - Jurassic Park: The Ride, Jurassic World: The Ride (2019)
Other Attractions - Jurassic Park: Discovery Centre, Velociraptor Encounter
Gift Shops - Jurassic Outfitters

Television Shows:
Cancelled TV show for Jurassic Park

Video Games:
LEGO Jurassic World - Universal, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, LEGO
Jurassic World: Evolution - Universal, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, Frontier Developments, XBOX One (Microsoft), PS4 (Sony)

Merchandise:
Action Figures - Mattel
Bobbleheads - Funko
Collectible Statues - Chronicle Collectibles, Iron Studios
Clothes - BAPE x Jurassic World
Shaving Foam - Barbasol x Jurassic World
Food - Jurassic World cinema cups and boxes, Jurassic World 'dinosaur' chicken nuggets, Jurassic World Mike and Ike
